Bathers

For centuries artists have drawn endless inspiration from bathers and bathing scenes. As a subject, its meaning has also evolved - from a symbol of fertility and renewal in the Renaissance to a return and union with nature in Expressionist works of the early 20th century.

For modernist artists, bathers became a subject with which to pursue innovations with their style and develop a more unromanticised view of the human body. To celebrate this historical art theme, here is a curation of our favourite Partnership Editions bathers.
