Harry Wade is an abstract painter working out of Cornwall, UK. Like body language, his paintings imply a mental state but the reality of that inner landscape is undisclosed. There is a sense that they operate in a place just out of reach; that they communicate on terms different from the kind facilitating this writing.
His work is self-referential and a great deal of the inspiration simply comes from what he has done before. His surroundings also tend to drive a lot of thinking, which in turn prompts art-making. This may take the shape of day-to-day reflections, observations about wildlife, stargazing and astrophotography, meditations about local history, the landscape and geographic history.
"My paintings reflect my personal pursuit to question reality and life. Many themes drive the work, but they are threaded together by curiosity for the world (and beyond), and fuelled by love and awe for the sheer impossibility and brilliance of it all."
