Artist
David Hardy
David Hardy was born in Southampton in 1968. He studied Fine Art, Printmaking at Winchester School of Art in 1995. After graduating he moved to London and worked at The Royal Society of Arts and London College of Fashion as resident graphic designer.
David now lives and works in West Wales where he strives to represent the land, seas and skies that surround him and those that are bound to him by memory. David takes inspiration from the natural world, responding to a place or an experience. Often referencing the landscape, photography & found forms as starting points. As a former graphic designer David has a keen eye for composition and form that’s reflected in his abstract pieces. Using a limited color palette, he emphasizes depth, tone, and texture, creating works that invite interpretation and emotional engagement through their ambiguity.

David's Style
Now working and living in Wales, David takes inspiration from his surrounding landscapes. His work focuses on composition and arrangement of colour in a subtle, reductive and minimal way that draws inspiration from the natural landscape and organic forms.
Married to fellow Partnership Editions artist, Lisa Hardy - the two are influenced by each other as much as the natural landscape of the Welsh countryside and the elements that shape it.
"My work is a record of pure engagement with colour and the material qualities of paint and surface. The work focuses on composition and arrangement of colour in a reductive, subtle minimal way, inspired by the natural landscape." - David Hardy
