Megan Wheatley
Megan Wheatley is a London-based painter. Influenced by Zen philosophy, Megan Wheatley's approach painting is both an intuitive and reflective process, allowing layers of pigment and dispersion stains to evolve organically - investigating the essence of existence, how we perceive and inhabit space, and the subtle interplay between unconscious thought and meditative flow.
The titles of her artworks are derived from codes based on location, date, and day, creating a system that ties the work to specific moments in time and place. Through a non-representational language of colour, mark-making, and surface, she seeks to cultivate presence and awareness, translating sensation into form.
Megan recently graduated from the Turps Studio Programme, an acclaimed residency and mentor programme for artists. Prior to this, she studied drawing and printmaking at UWE in Bristol, and will be attending the Royal College of Art in September 2025 to begin her masters degree in painting.
“My work speaks to those who find meaning in subtlety and resonates with a universal search for grounding in an ever-shifting world. My paintings come together without planning and my practice relies on the balance between restraint and expansiveness”

“This collection came together during my time on the Turps Studio Programme. It reflects a year of focused making; working slowly, intuitively, and letting each painting unfold over time. The works are grounded in presence and process, holding space for stillness, sensation, and quiet observation.” - Megan Wheatley, SE17
