Artist
Samantha Kerdine
Samantha Kerdine lives and works in Paris. Working most often from personal photographs, her practice draws on everyday life and its banality as inexhaustible sources of inspiration. From these intimate archives, she extracts intensity and poetry, revealing a subtle balance between humour and melancholy. In an era of image immediacy, she creates her own supports to paint on, using them as a renewed form of visual diary. Shiny, tactile, and colourful, these often autobiographical images transform the ordinary into something desirable, seeking to freeze fleeting moments and retain what continuously slips away.
Samantha studied global design between 2005 and 2010 before working as an art director. Parallel to this career, she developed an artistic practice encompassing sculpture, painting, and drawing, with a particular focus on ceramics. She has presented work at the the Chapelle XIV gallery and her work is included in the Champagne Perrier-Jouët collection.
