Imogen Richards
Imogen Richards creates romantic, abstract and functional work, experimenting with intuitive paintings on and with clay. Her playful and energetic compositions, marks and palette are dictated by the form and texture of each thrown and altered creation. Drawing inspiration from the theatricality and comfort of nature, and surrealist animation, her process results in other-worldly scenes which balance on the edge of reality.
Imogen Richards is an Artist/Maker based in Birmingham. Her visual language developed through her painting education at Edinburgh College of Art, and Masters Degree in Ceramics at Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent.

“My debut collection with Partnership Editions 'Land and Sky' is a bespoke collection of wheel-thrown and altered pieces. Each vessel is hand-painted with intuative and imagined scenes inspired by the the theatricality of nature and surrealist animation.
