Sophia Rosenthal (b. 1996, Seoul) is a painter exploring memory, migration and belonging. She holds an MA Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School (2024), where she was awarded the
Standpoint Artist Residency Prize, culminating in her solo exhibition Golden Hour (2025). She was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize 2024 and received the inaugural Judith Tucker Memorial Prize, selected by Lubaina Himid, Griselda Pollock and Harriet Tarlo, as
well as the Blyth Gallery Award. Recent exhibitions include Between Lunch and Something Else, Galerie C, Paris, and her solo exhibition Recurring Image, Hermon Gallery, Busan (2026). In 2026, she received Arts Council
England R&D funding and undertook an international residency at Naughty Muse Studios, Busan.
