Jesse Williams (b.1992) is a self-taught photographer from Brighton, England. His work focuses on examining the interplay between portraiture and still life. He highlights the mood, texture, and form in both genres through his pictures. Utilising both analog and digital cameras, Jesse crafts images with a warm, textured aesthetic.
Jesse’s photography delves into themes of vitality, rituals, and connection. His passion for nature and its impermanence greatly influences his work. Jesse emphasises stillness and atmosphere across his body of work, encouraging viewers to take a moment of reflection. His diverse subject matter showcases his desire to highlight the beauty of life in its various manifestations.
"Photography is a free-flowing, open, and radiant practice that feels wild and emotionally-driven. I find immense joy in capturing people, the spaces they inhabit, and the clothes they wear. Each person is unique, and their individual features inspire me to craft portraits that carry beauty, vulnerability, and tension."
