Introducing Partnership Creations. These virtual art workshops are intended to combat isolation and bring families together with an activity anyone can participate in. As Partnership Editions believes that art is for all, and are aware that some can’t afford to spend at this time, we decided to offer these classes for free, with a voluntary donation to The Trussell Trust, please donate below.

PAINTING A PORTRAIT AT HOME WITH CHRISTABEL BLACKBURN, PART 2

This Video Will Automatically Appear on Thursday 21st May, 7pm



Join Portrait Artist of The Year winner, Christabel Blackburn, in her second tutorial on painting a portrait. Coming back to your portrait with fresh eyes we will now refine the shapes and make sure things are in the correct place. You will now learn how to fill in shadow shapes and mid-lights. You'll make sure tonal values are correct and start to fill in your background.



Materials you might need: Oil Paints. Colours Christabel will use are: Titanium White, Unbleached Titanium Dioxide, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium red, Ultramarine Blue, Ivory Black. Brushes: I use flat, square head hogs brushes and synthetic.



Medium: Christabel uses Zest It and linseed Oil and Zest It for cleaning my brushes. 



Christabel will be using a primed wooden Board but you can use canvas/canvas board/oil paper. Easel and/or drawing board if taping down paper. Mirror if doing self portrait. Hand held mirror for seeing mistakes.

Wednesday 20th May, 7pm



Join Portrait Artist of The Year winner, Christabel Blackburn, in her first tutorial on painting a portrait. This class will cover setting up your portrait, with an introduction to materials and tips on how to position your subject, be it self-portrait or painting your partner or child. It will also show you how to arrange your palette. Putting first marks down and mapping out proportions and shadow shapes.

In this video tutorial, Hester Finch will give you a tour of her studio - talking you through her process, her materials and how she balances life and work.

MAKING A COLLAGE WITH RUBY KEAN

This class will appear here at 11am UK time on Saturday 2 May, 2020.



In this video tutorial, Ruby will teach you how to make special collaged cards for the loved ones that you can't see in person at the moment. 



What you'll need: If you've bought one of Ruby Kean's Collage Parcels then all you will need is scissors and glue. If you're going to use your own ephemera - then gather together old magazines, wall papers, coloured card, photographs, labels, stamps and anything else that means something to you.
