Hugo Winder-Lind
Hugo Winder-Lind’s artistic vision is one based on conceptual artistic lessons. He welcomes the inherent uncertainty of outcomes allowing each piece to impart new insights, whether familiar or entirely novel, transforming objects, images, and words into powerful ambassadors to this vision.
Hugo is based in Brighton, UK. His work has been shown at nationally and internationally, in both solo and group exhibitions.
"I'm fascinated with finding opposing truths in my work, like two things which shouldn't go together but do. Domesticity and Wilderness both have a kind of collective intelligence. I want the paintings to feel like they are slowly figuring out what life is about… like trees or rocks." - Hugo Winder-Lind

The Living Mountain, An Online Exhibition
"I often think of the idea of wilderness as a force. How there is this massive driving energy in all things to live and to keep living. It transforms life through all kinds of difficulties and trials. I feel a sense of that. My work changes aesthetically quite often, changes mediums, but I'd say there's a force in it which really strives to live. The work wants to exist and I want to make it. So in that sense I use this driving force of wilderness as a queue for my process. " - Hugo Winder-Lind, The Living Mountain
